Maximizing Team Performance

How is Coaching Different from Mentoring?

Coaching

  • Coaches are active participants, working with the client to create an improved outcome. Coaching is a short-term, structured step-by-step process.

  • A coach provides a personalized playbook that guides the leader through the steps needed to achieve his/her goals, empowering the leader with the skills and developing the state of mind needed to realize success.

  • A coaching relationship is instructional, addressing very specific areas or issues to help the client overcome barriers to growth.

Mentoring

  • Mentoring is the development of a long-term relationship built on common interests or career paths, typically between someone with more experience helping someone with less experience navigate his/her career path.

  • Mentoring is typically informal with no structured plan or approach. The relationship is advisory in nature that takes a holistic approach to support the mentee as needed.

Coacing vs. Mentoring

We are a committed partner to help business leaders and their teams embrace change and access tools to achieve personal, professional and organizational success.

Our Clients

Our clients come to us for a variety of reasons. Some are personally seeking support to improve their mental and emotional well-being they recognize may be preventing them from realizing professional growth. Some are finding it difficult to lead a team and want to develop the skills needed to better engage with their employees.

For other clients, they are seeking support for their teams to acquire the necessary skills to better engage with one another and personally grow to achieve business or team goals.

For many, it can be personal or professional transitions influencing the need for a coach such as an athlete preparing for life after sports, or to fuel a passion; or a woman returning to the workforce after 10 years as a stay-at-home mother.
